Mireddys's Lawyers Resign

The lawyers of Mireddys González Castellanos and her sister Ayeicha González Castellanos, in the civil cases they face against artist Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez, Daddy Yankee, decided to resign from their defense amidst the legal dispute with the artist. Through a motion filed on January 23, they stated that there was a 'justified and unforeseen reason' that prevented them from continuing as of-record attorneys. According to the court document, the González Castellanos sisters were notified of the motion and were 'fully' explained the status of the case and the pending procedural terms, including the discovery of evidence. The lawyers also requested that a reasonable period be granted to obtain new legal representation. Puerto Rican media reports that the motions for removal are linked to the lawsuits involving the corporations El Cartel Records, Inc. and Los Cangris, Inc., which are part of the judicial conflict between the artist and the González Castellanos sisters. The legal dispute between Daddy Yankee and the González Castellanos sisters began in December 2024, after the artist went to court to claim access and control over his corporations, amidst the divorce process after almost three decades of marriage.
