The hat designer of De León Headwear & Design, Neisha De León, revealed details about the special hat worn by Bad Bunny at the 2025 Met Gala. The hat, inspired by a traditional design made of woven straw typical of farmworkers in Puerto Rico, is a representation of the humility and richness of Puerto Rican culture.

A graduate of the School of Plastic Arts of Puerto Rico and Fashion Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, De León detailed that the straw hat used by Bad Bunny was made with 'mohair wool' sent by Prada and wires to maintain its traditional shape. Each leaf was handmade, and the structure of the hat was supported by wire.

For the designer, seeing Bad Bunny wear her creations is an opportunity to highlight the importance of hats as fashion accessories and promote individuality in each person's style. This is not the first design by De León for the artist, as she previously created a straw crown for a cover of Vogue Mexico and Latin America.

De León has a limited catalog of unique handmade hats, priced around 250 dollars. The manufacturing process can take up to 3 weeks per hat, using materials such as wool, straw, and 100% natural seaweed. Bad Bunny, known for setting trends in fashion, stood out at the 2025 Met Gala thanks to the hat designed by De León in collaboration with Prada.
