Daddy Yankee opposed the request of his still-wife Mireddys González to appoint a judicial administrator for their companies amid the corporate dispute following their separation. González, who is a co-owner of the companies managing the artist's career, requested the court to make this designation, claiming that the corporations are not functioning due to the dispute between her and her husband.
In response, Daddy Yankee's legal representation described the request as "legally erroneous" and "completely unfounded," highlighting that their opposition is based on the claim that González's petition lacks legal grounding and shows a frivolous and reckless procedure before the Court. The lawyers stated that the only pending issue in the judicial process is the request for contempt due to non-compliance by González and her sister Ayeisha.
Furthermore, the lawyers pointed out that the González sisters have submitted documents without legal merit as part of a strategy to carry out a false media campaign to discredit Daddy Yankee. They emphasized that the artist will assume his responsibilities as president of the companies and will take all necessary actions to address matters related to the entities while they were under the management of the González sisters.
The conflict over control of the companies El Cartel Records and Los Cangris Inc. erupted when the González sisters made transfers of 100 million dollars from corporate bank accounts to personal accounts without the artist's consent, following their confirmed separation after nearly three decades of marriage and two children together. Despite a prior agreement regarding the representation of the corporations, the defendants had not complied with the delivery of required documents and digital access.
In a recent follow-up hearing, both parties agreed to continue the delivery of documentation within the framework of the corporate dispute, while Daddy Yankee continues to seek to preserve control of his companies amid the controversy.
