The famous Puerto Rican urban singer Cosculluela was jailed on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in Puerto Rico after being involved in an incident where he struck two people riding horses and then fled the scene. Tragically, both horses lost their lives and the riders were seriously injured. Judge Enid Cristina Rivera García of the Humacao Court reviewed the evidence presented and determined that there were grounds for all charges against him.

At kilometer 4.5, Cosculluela hit the two horses with his vehicle, causing the tragic loss of the animals and leaving the riders, Ischamary Román Medina, 18, and Luis De Jesús Rivera, 34, with severe injuries. The judge set bail at $150,000 and ordered that the singer be jailed until the preliminary hearing scheduled for February 12.

According to El Tiempo, Cosculluela faces two serious charges: one for "Driving a motor vehicle recklessly or negligently with disregard for the safety of another person causing bodily injury requiring hospitalization or treatment" and another for "Failing to stop at the accident." Additionally, he faces charges of "Destruction of evidence" and "Mistreatment of animals, causing severe physical injury or the death of an animal."

The Department of Justice highlighted that the 44-year-old singer drove his vehicle along the PR-908 highway in Humacao. This irresponsible incident has generated a strong reaction in public opinion, and now Cosculluela faces serious legal consequences for his actions.
