The "Let's Talk Without Shame" campaign, led by Puerto Rican singer Residente in collaboration with Prudence, seeks to address this urgent need: to provide young people in Latin America with appropriate guidance, free of taboos and prejudices, on crucial issues such as consent, sexual diversity, and the responsible use of contraceptive methods.
Residente, known for his direct and provocative style, has become an advocate for comprehensive sex education in the region. In his own words: "It is necessary for young people to be informed without feeling ashamed." Through disruptive digital content, educational workshops, and the participation of local influencers, the message has managed to reach communities in a close and empathetic way.
Since its launch, the campaign has mobilized health experts, media, and key figures, generating a positive impact on the conversation about sex education, which has so far remained a difficult topic to address in many families and educational environments. "We knew that sex education was a pending debt in our communities, but we never imagined the impact would be so great."
With the ongoing expansion and incorporation of new alliances, firm steps are being taken towards comprehensive sex education in Latin America, aiming to empower new generations to speak without shame and fully live their experiences. This stance has been fundamental to connect with thousands of young people in eight countries in Latin America, including Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Venezuela.
The "Let's Talk Without Shame" campaign has been revolutionary in its approach. "Through it, I can speak to young people in their language, make them feel heard, and above all, help them understand that they are not alone in this process of personal discovery," the artist remarked. During 2023, nine launch events for Prudence + Residente were held, with the attendance of 105 relevant media outlets and 38 influencers. These events have accumulated 32.9 million impacts in digital media, radio, and TV, with a total air time of three hours and 25 minutes.
