The Puerto Rican and Dominican urban artist De La Ghetto presented his new EP (mini-album), 'Starlight', in which he affirms to demonstrate his 'essence' as an interpreter and as 'part of the reggaeton elite' after twenty years of career. 'De La Ghetto is part of the constellation of reggaeton and that is what I am demonstrating with 'Starlight',' affirmed Rafael Castillo, De La Ghetto's real name, in a video interview with EFE and on the occasion of the premiere of his musical project. With 'Starlight', he concludes a trilogy of EPs released this year. 'As we went hard at music, we are among the elites, embodied as in the constellations, which never go away,' he added. The success he mentions has a lot to do with his works alongside Arcángel, with whom he has recorded some of the most known themes of the movement like 'Traficando a mi manera', 'Sensación del bloque', 'Mi fanática', 'Sorpresa' and the remixes 'Siente el boom' and 'Somos de calle.' 'I knew we were going to go far,' stated the performer, who in his repertoire has the albums 'Masacre Musical', 'Los Chulitos', 'Mi Movimiento', 'Geezy Boy The Album' and 'GZ'. Reunited again with Arcángel on the track 'Comernos' De La Ghetto and Arcángel continued as a duo until 2007 and despite their separation, they have maintained a good relationship to keep creating hits. On this occasion, Arcángel participates in 'Starlight' on the track 'Comernos', in which is heard 'the essence' of both from when they started, 'but updated.' 'When one makes a song with someone you know for twenty years, it is difficult to revive that magic again, because it has happened with other duos, who have released music and it does not sound the same as before,' he indicated. With this new collaboration between De La Ghetto and Arcángel, it is expected that next year or in 2027 they will launch an album or do a tour together, as their followers ask. The others are 'Daylight' and 'Moonlight.' 'Daylight,' which combines reggaeton, afrobeats, EDM and reggae, features the collaborations of the Colombian Blessd and the Spanish JC Reyes; while in 'Moonlight,' which includes themes of genres like afro beat, house and merengue, participate the Puerto Rican Mora and the Panamanian Sech. De La Ghetto admitted that 'Starlight' is his favorite of his three musical works of 2025, because it contains his 'essence' as an artist or as, he described, his 'powers' or musical rhythms: romantic reggaeton, heavy reggaeton, r&b and trap. 'People know that I adapt to any style,' assured the singer, who recently had musical performances in Canada, Panama and Colombia. The title of 'Starlight' obeys that De La Ghetto defends his place among the superstars of the urban genre, in which he appeared in 2005, in a duo along with Arcángel, in which 'a brutal chemistry was created, of which today is still spoken,' he affirmed. That same year of debut, both interpreters participated in the albums 'Sangre Nueva,' in whose themes collaborated already established artists like Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Wisin y Yandel, Héctor El Father, Zion and Lennox, among others. Two decades giving 'hard' to music. ''Sangre Nueva' gave us the 'approval' (the approval) of Zion, Héctor, of everybody,' remembered De La Ghetto about the theme 'Ven pégate' alongside Arcángel, that propelled them to stardom with concerts both in Puerto Rico as in other countries. 'It's twenty years and we haven't let up and we have always been there giving it, consistent.'
