On Friday, November 28, Puerto Rican artist Bad Bunny and his Good Bunny foundation opened an immersive experience in San Juan featuring Puerto Rico's Christmas culture, traditional music, and artistic activities for children. The event is part of the 'Bonita Tradición' initiative. 'For me, Puerto Rico's Christmas traditions have always been a reminder of who we are as a people: united, joyful, and full of culture,' stated Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, Bad Bunny's real name. He explained that 'Bonita Tradición' this year was born from the desire to create a space where families can share, learn, and take pride in their roots. The Good Bunny foundation was created in 2018 to support underprivileged children and youth in Puerto Rico by providing opportunities in music, arts, and sports. The exhibition, located at Plaza Las Américas shopping mall, will be open until January 5. It features several interactive rooms with paintbrushes hanging from the ceiling, phones to talk to the Three Wise Men, and tables for drawing. 'This year, we wanted to bring a different, interactive concept for the whole family to take a tour of our culture,' said Vega, adding that they will also be delivering gifts such as guitars, bats, gloves, paintbrushes, and books to those in need, as they have in previous years. Illustrations of traditional Puerto Rican string and percussion instruments like the cuatro and congas welcome visitors. The walls are decorated with drawings made by young people who attended the foundation's 'Un Verano Contigo' summer camp. One of the event's workers, 19-year-old Alondra Nicole, shared that Christmas in Puerto Rico is celebrated for several months and is a very important time for everyone.
